Liaising with Govt. Functionary

To initiate our work in a geography, it is useful to have good liaising with the local functionary. The process of liaising with a local functionary has been detailed below —

To initiate our work in a block or a district, we should intimate the government functionaries at first. A letter should be submitted to the District Collector and a copy of it duly signed must be retained for further reference.

Copies of the duly signed letter from the Collector’s Office should be submitted to all the stakeholders mentioned in the CC of the original communication, namely the CEO (Zila Panchayat), Superintendent of Police (SP), District Programme Officer (DPO), and Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO).

Keeping the above functionaries informed is essential to secure their cooperation and avoid any communication gap.

The functionaries must also be invited during the opening of creches which would help us ensure further cooperation in streamlining and bridging of various processes. For instance, the referrals, functional Village Health, Sanitation, ad Nutrition Day (VHSND), full immunization, deworming, etc.

We should also keep the government functionaries updated from time to time about our operations by being present in various discussion meetings organized by the government, which include monthly or quarterly meetings.

*Note: The liaising with government stakeholders should be done in consultation with the District Team of Azim Premji Foundation responsible for the concerned location.
